Ursula Meissner

She began her early career as a journalist for the German TV company ZDF, and was made responsible for South Asia in 1984. In 1989 she swapped her typewriter for a camera and took up photojournalism, she was recently assigned to ZDF regional studios but will soon be active again. After many small projects, her first public exhibition was in Sarajewo in August 1992.
 

Since then Ursula has spent 15 years as a freelance photographer in war and areas of unrest worldwide. From Afghanistan to Sierra Leone, from Kosovo to Irak, she has given a face to victims of both war and humanitarian causes and her work has now been published internationally after receiving worldwide recognition.
